At Plains Memorial Hospital, part of Castro County Healthcare, exceptional care is built by team members who bring skill, compassion, and commitment to every patient interaction. Jacqueline “Jacquie” Mata, RN, reflects those qualities through the way she cares for patients, supports her coworkers, and serves the community.
Jacquie has been a registered nurse since May 2021 and joined the Plains Memorial Hospital family in 2025. Before becoming a nurse, she balanced life as a part-time anesthesia technician in surgery while also being a full-time mom to five children and wife to her husband, Daniel, a Marine. Once her children were older, Jacquie pursued her lifelong calling: nursing.
Jacquie sees every patient encounter as an opportunity to grow professionally, understanding that each diagnosis, circumstance, and individual offers something new to learn. Since joining Plains Memorial Hospital, Jacquie has become a valued member of the nursing team. She consistently demonstrates kindness, compassion, and professionalism while providing exceptional care to patients. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, support her coworkers, and work collaboratively to help achieve the best possible outcomes.
Jacquie often says she is nothing without her team. That humility and appreciation for the people around her reflect the kind of nurse she is: compassionate, dependable, and deeply committed to those she serves.
