Community Health Fair Returns to Dimmitt Oct. 9 

Castro County Healthcare invites the community to its annual Community Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 9, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dimmitt High School Activity Center. 

The free, come-and-go event brings preventive health services, a blood drive, community resources, and local craft vendors together in one place. Some vaccines and lab tests have a fee. 

Take Care of Your Health 

Vaccines and lab testing will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Flu vaccines are $30, and high-dose flu vaccines are $85. Medicare is accepted for flu vaccinations. COVID-19 and pneumonia vaccines are expected; availability and pricing have not yet been confirmed. 

Discounted lab tests and screenings include:

For fasting tests, the event guidance says not to eat or drink after 10 p.m. the night before, except water or medications. 

Coffee Memorial Blood Center will also host a blood drive at the fair. 

Connect With Local Resources 

Meet representatives from home health and hospice agencies, organizations serving older adults, and mobility and electric chair vendors. The Castro County Sheriff’s Office will be on-site to share community safety information. 

Shop Local Vendors 

Local craft vendors will be at the fair throughout the event.
